Using Environmental Advertising to Attract Your Targeted Audience

Sometimes the best placement for your message is in the open.

Environmental advertising graphics can help deliver a message to a targeted audience by taking advantage of unused space, such as a sidewalk, side of a building, or a bus stop.

The bus stop route worked for our client, the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Taking advantage of bus stop messaging allowed our client to reach a pool of potential participants where they visited daily.

The vinyl graphics at each bus stop outlined the details of the study and included several ways for bus riders to reach out, including a convenient QR code right on the graphic that went directly to the study.

Those waiting for a bus could access the survey and participate. Survey takers received a $50 gift card for taking the survey and wearing an activity tracker for seven days. There were other opportunities to win more gift cards as well.

And all the participants had to do was read the environmental advertising graphic, set at eye level, at their bus stop. Talk about being at the right place and the right time. That’s the best type of advertising an organization can have.
