Growing Truck and Trailer Sales Mean More Trailer Graphic Advertising Opportunities

2014 was a good year for both truck and trailer sales. Let’s take a look at some of the numbers to see just how good the year was.

2014 Truck Sales

U.S. Class 8 truck deliveries came in at 220,405 units, the largest number since 2006.
Class 4-8 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) sold 406,747 units, a 15.6% increase over 2013.
North American Class 5-8 net orders totaled 602,300 units, averaging over 50,000 orders per month.
December 2014 was the third consecutive month with North American Class 8 truck order activity over 40,000 units.

2014 Trailer Sales

U.S. trailer net orders reached 39,356 units in November, the second highest month ever.
Trailer orders totaled approximately 342,000 for the year.

How Do Truck Sales Equal Advertising Opportunities?

Like we said, 2014 was a good year in truck and trailer sales. However, it’s also important to note that these transportation giants stay on the road for a long time. In fact, the average age for Class 4-8 vehicles stands at 14.7 years. When you consider that many of these trucks wrack up over 150,000 miles each year, that’s a long life on the road.

We’re sure you’re wondering, how do truck sales and a long truck life equal advertising opportunities? Well, these trucks are some of the biggest vehicles on our country’s roads, highways, and interstates. Literally millions of people see these types of trucks every day, making them a perfect medium for your advertising message. A Trailer Graphic can turn a truck into a moving billboard that can garner over 10 million visual impressions in a year (American Trucking Association). Safeway Trailer Graphic Advertising

And while a high number of impressions is great, that’s not the only important aspect of using trailer graphics for advertising. The most effective advertisements have always been and will always be those that people remember and 97% of people surveyed by RYP & Becker Group say that they recalled the ads on trucks. Additionally, 96% of the survey’s respondents indicated that trailer graphics have more impact than traditional billboards.

With so many trucks on the road and more being bought every year, there are nearly endless opportunities to use trailer graphics to push your brand identity to the top of people’s minds. Contact Signature Graphics Today to learn more about this exciting advertising opportunity!
